Here’s what is known about the cause of death of the legendary Toto Cutugno

Today, 22 August, the famous Italian singer and composer Toto Cutugno died. He died at the age of 80.

The cause of death is still unknown, but it is worth noting that the artist had been fighting oncology for many years.

In 2007, Toto was diagnosed with a prostate tumour and was immediately operated on. In January 2009, before his concert tour in Russia, the disease returned. He had to undergo a course of chemotherapy.

After that, he did resume performing. It is also known that he was missing his right kidney and could not stand for a long time.

Because of the disease, he began to appreciate every minute of life and said that it was a real gift.

Salvatore “Toto” Cutugno (born 27 July 1945) is an Italian singer, composer and songwriter. He became famous for his song “L’Italiano”, released in 1983. The song became a hit and gained popularity not only in Italy but also abroad.

“Solo Noi” is another successful composition that was popular with listeners. “Insieme: 1992” – this song was the official anthem of the 1990 FIFA World Cup held in Italy.

“Sara” – another hit that brought Toto Cutugno popularity and recognition. “Ti amo” is a well-known song that has become one of the symbols of romantic music.
