After five months of searching, a truck driver encounters his lost traveling companion—a cat—and breaks down in tears

Little Ashes has traveled a lot. He has traversed America in Matthew B., his human, who drives an 18-wheeler.

They have been almost inseparable for decades and are much in love, but tragedy struck last July when Ashes unintentionally exited the truck when he was stopped at a truck stop in Springfield, and disappeared.

Without success, he looked all around for his friend and traveling partner.

He had vanished without a trace, far from her house. The fact that he would have to finish the voyage without him upset him.

Eventually, he drove away, but over the next months, he arranged his routes so that he would frequently return to the location where Ashes was last seen and be able to search for him.

He and the kittie both resisted giving up on hope.

Ashes was contributing by keeping himself alive while Matthew clung to the possibility of locating him once more.

The hungry and chilly cat struggled to survive for months until being discovered in the bushes by Kimberley T.

The starving and underweight cat was given the moniker “Smokey” by him, who then brought him to the Newport, facility of the animal advocacy group Lollypop Farm.

When “Smokey” was examined at there for a microchip, it was found that he was really Ashes rather than “Smokey” at all!

Five months after Ashes vanished, Mat received the call and couldn’t believe it.

One final time changing his path, he made his way to New York, where Ashes was waiting for him.

When they were reconnected, he was ecstatic to see his cat-dad once more, while Matthew struggled to contain his tears.

The joyful ending for Matthew and Ashes emphasizes the significance of microchipping our furry family members.

Without that microchip, I never would have been able to get him back.

Although the people who discovered him saved his life, the microchip allowed for his return he Informed him.
