Regardless of the difficulties he has encountered, Petey the rescued doggie has always been a cheerful pup.
The adorable puppy was already the longest tenant at his local shelter in North Carolina at just one year old.
His time had already been prolonged beyond customary lengths due to the small rescue’s storage issue.
In the absence of any prospective adopters, the rescue contacted the SPCA of South Carolina to ask if they might aid in giving him more time to locate his family.

He quickly adapted to his new surroundings as he enjoyed spending time with his beloved human brothers and pup brother.
He already enjoys giving his family many kisses and cuddles and playing fetch in his yard.
And at the end of the day, the once-forgotten shelter doggie, settles up in his cozy bed and nods off while beaming broadly.

There are many rescue animals who go unnoticed for extended periods of time, him being just one of them.
There are between 8 and 10 puppies waiting for their permanent homes alone, and they have been there for over a year.
The SPCA team and Ranlet are optimistic that the other long-term pets will soon have their gladly end, just as Petey’s tale had a joyful conclusion.
