After being rescued, the adorable donkey is all smiles

ANIMALS

As it is being towed to safety, the Irish flood rescue donkey appears to be beaming.

A donkey that was stranded in floodwaters last Sunday was saved by a boating club member in Ireland, and the animal is already making a full recovery.

Fsrn reports that the woman asked for help on her Facebook page for Animal Paradise Animal Sanctuary.

The horse escaped from its stable in Killorglin, County Kerry, on Saturday night when strong winds tore down the fence.

The animal was found abandoned in a field, surrounded by high floodwaters, the next morning when a nearby river overflowed its banks.

A crew of animal sanctuary volunteers helped Mike, a fellow of the Killorglin Boat Club, find the animal and attempt to wrap a line and buoyancy device around him prior to bringing him to shore.

According to a representative for Animals Paradise Animal Shelter, the animal, who has been given the name Mike in honor of his hero, is recuperating at the sanctuary for creatures while the barn is being fixed.

In order to avoid pneumonia, our veterinarian has seen him since put him on medication, according to Suzanne, the rescue’s founder.

He is now drying with towels, enjoying a hot meal, and is cozy and comfortable.

Even though he has a tiny bit of water in one lung, our veterinarian believes he will heal.

We really appreciate anybody who lends a hand to disadvantaged creatures.

Enjoy this cutie’s smile. His smile is like Heaven on Earth.
