Prejudice is still a problem in today’s world. As much as we might not like it, our current condition is deteriorating rather than improving. Rachel and Aaron experienced it first hand.

The reason for this situation is rather unique: they suffered a lot because of the color of their children’s skin.

The couple met on a blind date in 2004. Born and raised in Honduras until the age of 10, Aaron became a missionary and spent most of his years preaching the word of God during several travels.

And Rachel was born in Mississippi. When she met Aaron, she immediately knew that he was for her.

They became intimately acquainted with each other during their missionary work. Soon their relationship became more serious. They both had the same dream and when they got married they both wanted to start a big family immediately.

They knew how much children needed help and wanted to share their compassion and love. They officially adopted two children and they were named Ford and Katherine.

Although they didn’t directly encounter anything bad at school, when they left home with foster children, their facial expressions were enough.

Fortunately, they were not afraid: the color of the children’s skin meant nothing to them. They needed a home, and the color of their skin didn’t stop Halbarts from doing so.

The couple were delighted with the opportunity to get pregnant and decided that this was the perfect way to expand their family.

Before Rachel decided to implant the embryos, they faced stares from the townspeople, who ridiculed her for adopting two children of a very different race.

Although there were times when she couldn’t understand why they were doing it and for what purpose, she simply preferred to remain silent and continued to do what she felt was right.

When Rachel was close to her due date, the doctors decided to perform an early caesarean section so that the babies could be born safely and be healthy. If it was interesting, please share it with your friends and family !
