Annigret Raunig is a teacher from Berlin who has always been surrounded by kids. In elementary school and at home, she taught Russian and English.
At the age of 50, a woman gave birth to 12 babies! She was married, but unfortunately, their marriage could not be saved, and most of her life she raised children alone.
In 2005, she first hit the pages of the German press as the oldest mother in Germany. Annigret used artificial insemination and gave birth to her 13th child, daughter Leyla, when she was 55 years old.
When Leila was 9 years old, Annigret again surprised the whole country. She decided it was time to relive the happiness of motherhood. Moreover, Leila asked her mother to give her a brother or sister.
Due to German laws prohibiting egg donation, Annigret went abroad. Fortunately, everything worked out and on May 19, 2015, she gave birth to four babies, three sons and one daughter.
This time, Raunig broke not only the national but also the world record, she became the oldest mother of four children in history. In 2018, journalist Birgit Schrowange visited her and told readers how the most discussed mother in their country lives.
She said that the woman became more nervous and impatient, as well as more strict in dealing with babies. Caring for children took Annigret all the time and energy.
Raunig had big problems transporting a four-seater stroller, so she very rarely went outside with the kids, spending most of her time in the garden. Annigret had little to no time for herself.
Some of Annigret’s older babies stopped communicating with her, finding her pregnancy story too controversial. Now only her 14-year-old daughter Leyla constantly helps the woman.
