‘Huge’ amount of milk supposedly force-fed to baby by UK nurse suspected of murdering 7 babies

LIFE STORIES

In the UK, the trial for Lucy is still ongoing. She has also been charged with force-feeding a bab to a hazardous level in additon to just being suspected of murdering at least 7 newborns while under her care.

She allegedly tried to kill this newborn, known as Newborn G in the court, when the nurse who was in charge of her care was out for lunch.

Dr. Stephen, an on-call NICU expert, said in court that Baby G was delivered early and weighted barely 1 pound.

Before being unexpectedly summoned back to the NICU to look on the infant, he stated that she had been recovering.

In the wee hours of September 7, 2022, the baby “quite huge projectile vomited.”

This was not anything I had previously experienced, Dr. Breary said.

Expert witness Dr. Dewi informed the court, as the BBC disclosed: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby puke as far as the floor, and I definitely don’t think I’ve ever seen a newborn puke that far.

When [Infant G] throws up in this manner, it is highly exceptional and indicates that something very, very strange is happening.”

According to the doc testimony, the newborn received much more milk via her nasal tube than she should have, which caused irreparable brain trauma.

A nurse also stated that she saw a monitoring had been switched off when she came to help her with the baby, which was “not typical routine.”

Due to the brain injury she endured, Baby G has now been identified as having quadriplegic cerebral palsy.
