A compassionate ostrich comforted an orphaned elephant and the two became closest friends

The odd friendships between wild animals never cease to astound us. These amazing, kind animals are capable of loving and comforting one another, just like people.

Your hearts will likely melt as a result of this unique bond between species.

Meet Jotto, a young elephant, and Pea, an ostrich, who developed a special bond at an elephant sanctuary where they first met.

The newborn elephant was just one month old when Sheldrick Wildlife workers saved him.

His second shot at life was granted to him. The 2 orphaned ostrich chicks, Pea and Pod, were taken to the same refuge where the baby elephant was immediately after this rescue, according to the employees at the refuge.

No one could have predicted how well they would get along and even develop a friendship.

They were transported by air to Nairobi’s National Park. The tiny animals here had a new life.

Here, the budding relationship bloomed. Jotto always had Pea at his side, providing him with the love and care he so desperately needed as a young orphan elephant.

Their compassionate connection was what enabled them both to move past their hurt and loss.

Pea and Jotto were best friends and spent all of their time together.

The ostrich began to believe she was a part of the elephant herd after spending her days there.

Jotto is overjoyed to have Pea as a fun and devoted pal.

They frequently cuddled with each other and adored it.

Once they have recovered, grown robust, and reached adulthood, they will return to the wild.
