In order to raise their kids as a platonic family, single mom best friends moved in together and discovered joy

POSITIVE

There were 15 million kids in the US alone who were raised by their moms alone in 2018, according to data.

It comes as no surprise that single mothers are banding together more and more these days.

They can even locate a partner through a dedicated website where they can discuss challenging economic and family challenges.

However, not everybody utilizes websites; occasionally, even a long-time buddy might find a new companion.

Two New Zealander girls’ tales provide proof of this.

2018 saw the start of Samantha and Lauren’s connection when they connected on Insta.

However, the ladies were unaware that their connection would take a completely new turn after 3 years.

Everything began in April 2021, when Samantha and her boyfriend, with whom she had lived in New Zealand for five years and nurtured their son Kaelin, divorced.

Best made the decision to go to Auckland in pursuit of employment as a recently divorced mother of a young kid.

Samantha was aware that adjusting to life in a new place would not be simple.

“It was challenging for Kaelin and me to live alone and peacefully.

I felt extremely alone and afraid since Auckland is so costly, she recalls.

At that point, Sam messaged Lauren, a friend who was also parenting her little daughter Haidyn by herself.

Her friend Lauren recommended that they live together in order to live as a family and save money on rent and groceries.

Best accepted right away and hasn’t looked back since making her choice: “Being with Lauren is so much simpler.

We’ve been able to divide our expenses, and we can assist each other out by providing daycare when one of us is occupied by picking up both kids from school or watching them when one of us wants to go out.

To make it simpler to pay for food and rent, the sisters even established a joint bank account in addition to sharing domestic tasks.

Naturally, they also assist one another in raising their offspring.

Experience has taught her, 24, and Lauren, 26, that raising children together is simpler, especially if you share similar parenting philosophies.

There are moments in their household, according to Lauren, when her daughter is misbehaving and didn’t talk to her, but Samantha is able to influence her.

Their kids rapidly became close, albeit occasionally fighting like a real brother and sister would.

Their bond has grown significantly since moving in together, and they are now a genuine family.

Lauren is my partner; I don’t have a boyfriend. She  encourages me in all of my irrational life decisions.

It gives me the utmost sense of love and desire. She said on her TikTok that she “treats my son like her own.”

But the single mothers are aware that if one of them finds a long-term relationship, the other will leave and settle in the area.

What do you say of parenting your kids together while living with a buddy?
