The boy was very friendly with the dog, he was the son of a policeman and fed the dog every day. Once the dog warned him about some kind of insecurity.
The boy was named Brian, he was only 12 but looked smaller for his age. And his father was not at all the same, on the contrary, he was very tall, strong and differed from everyone in his physique.
The father did not understand why his boy was so shy and not at all like him. All the time he tried to increase his son’s self-confidence, did everything so that he began to love himself and not be shy.
Despite all this, his son was very smart, he was even offered a scholarship to one of the prestigious schools in the city. He was afraid to even get on the bus to go to school and was very unsure of himself.
Luckily, the school was closer to where his father worked, so he picked him up from there after school. His work ended only at 5 pm, when the boy’s lessons were long over.
In winter, the boy waited for his father in the library and did his homework all this time, and when it was warm outside, he sat and waited on the steps near the school.
One afternoon, when he went to school to take his son home, he saw that he was not there. The son stood at the school gate and stroked the dog. The dog jumped up on its hind legs and played with it.
He was well looked after there. Day after day, the father noticed that food was being served from their refrigerator or cupboard and immediately guessed why. He learned that his son feeds the dog and other stray dogs on the street every day.
It was very difficult for Brian to communicate with people, but his father saw how quickly he finds a language with dogs. He thought that they might be dangerous for him, but his son did not listen to him.
The parents got together and explained to him that it is very dangerous to be friends with all the stray dogs on the street, they can harm him. He may be afraid of them, they may even bite him and it will hurt him.
But the boy did not want to listen to them, he said that they are all good and he trusts them. Brian explained that they would not hurt him because they are very smart.
It was very hard for the father to admit that what he really wanted was for their son to interact with them the way he interacts with dogs. He was just jealous of the kind of communication they had. H
e just wanted Brian to be more open to them, he wanted him to tell them more about his life and lessons, for example. He was ashamed of it.
