Rescued chimpanzees hug newly arrived orphan as he arrives at the shelter

ART and NATURE

A small orphan chimpanzee, orphaned by the illegal wildlife trade, is given new life and is welcomed with hugs.

Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection is a chimpanzee sanctuary and conservation center that cares for more than 40 chimpanzees under the age of 5 who have been affected by the illegal bushmeat and domestic animal trade.

A few months ago they adopted this young orphan chimpanzee named Becklish. And fortunately, he was accepted and planned to be introduced to the forest, a protected area where he could live with other chimpanzee buddies.

They wrote on Facebook that Beckley is close to the forest and will fit in well with the new environment. He also had fellow chimpanzees who took him under their wing.

The chimpanzee Mary Beauty and Zakk became attached to Beckley, and once Mary even comforted the young chimpanzee when he began to cry.

Finally the day came when Beckley was ready to go to his new home and the other chimpanzees greeted him charmingly.

The rescued chimpanzees are orphaned by brutal poachers, but despite everything, they are already dependent on each other. They will now be able to thrive with other chimpanzees in a natural and safe environment.

In addition to being killed by poachers, some chimpanzees are even taken to be sold as pets. Chimpanzees are not and should not be pets or forced to live with humans.

What these little ones went through in life is heartbreaking, but we are glad that they are saved and can now live with each other in a safe environment.
