A dog named Ruby, a cross between a Border Collie and an Australian Shepherd, has been brought to the shelter four times already! The first time he was only 8 months old when he was rejected.
The family could not live with him and brought him to the shelter, saying that it was impossible with him, he was not for adoption. The shelter thought they could no longer give Ruby to someone and decided to euthanize him.
But one of the workers thought that the dog could be given another chance. He said that in his opinion the dog is not very well-mannered, but he is insanely smart and that he can be taught everything.
He was rejected many times precisely because he was too active a dog. No one was able to cope with his activity.
A worker named Inman decided to contact the police and ask if they wanted a dog to train for their K-9 unit. He thought that this was the best solution, because it would be good for both themselves and for the dog to learn how to behave.
And indeed, it was a good decision, because the K-9 is what the dog really needed. And then one of the officers agreed to take him for training in order to then join the detachment.
Officer O’Neill had always wanted an assistant dog, but had never acted and now had a great chance. He thought that they could succeed and do it!
At first, Ruby didn’t behave as well because he pooped on the floor of the officer’s house and O’Neal’s wife was pregnant and found it difficult to clean up after him. But the officer did not refuse him and wanted to educate him.
It took a lot of strength, energy and patience, because Ruby was too active and naughty. But when a little time passed, Ruby learned everything and became his partner.
One day a teenager boy disappeared from the house and they had to look for the boy. His mother told them that the boy loves to walk in the forest, so the search began there.
Ruby smelled the boy and immediately went looking for him.
He and the officer followed the scent and saw a wounded boy. Ruby went up to him and licked his face, he managed to find a teenager!
Fortunately, the boy is already fine, he was hospitalized after that. And most importantly, Ruby managed to learn everything and show that despite everything, he is the smartest and can quickly learn everything he needs!
