Rex’s story caused a stir. He was rescued by the Strasbourg resort after the ordeal of his life and recently vacationed with his adoptive owners before dying of illness last Tuesday.
It is reported by Actu Strasbourg on Wednesday, June 22. For this German Shepherd, the nightmare had been going on for eight years. At the beginning of the year, they found a new home thanks to their page about it.
Previously, he knew only pain and loneliness. He lives in a hut surrounded by dirt and excrement. We came to him just to give him water. He has no right to any human warmth or even fellowship.
Rescued and placed in an animal shelter, he was first hired in April 2021, but his experience did not produce any expected results.
Rex suffers from an autoimmune disease that causes intense itching and scabs all over his body.
His health deteriorated and he almost died from it before being barely rescued. After his owners failed to feed him, the German Shepherd returned to a shelter in Alsace.
Rex got another chance after sharing a StrasbourS SPA Facebook post with them in January. This time it was good.
He was taken in by a new family living in Philipsburg on the banks of the Moselle. Thanks to the care of the shelter team and veterinarians, the animal feels much better.
He was surrounded and loved to the end. Until that sad day Tuesday, June 21st, when he died of illness.
On social media, Strathbourg SPA announced his death on their Facebook page. This brought fond memories of him to all who knew him.
Without resentment, affectionate and very kind in nature, the dog “looks very cheerful, optimistic and sparkles with joy when playing with the ball.”
Rex concluded by saying that he would teach us all great lessons in resilience and life.” If it was interesting, please share it with your friends and family !
