Veterinarian Kelly O’Connell lives in Colorado, USA. More recently, a young woman got married, and the whole world is now talking about her wedding. All due to the fact that Kelly’s wedding had one special guest – her beloved dog Charlie.
Kelly took him into her home when she was just a puppy. Someone left it outside in a supermarket cart. It was winter, and the baby would have frozen to death if 19-year-old Kelly had not found him.
For 15 years, Kelly and Charlie were inseparable. But unfortunately, it was recently discovered that the dog has a brain tumor. She knew she couldn’t help him and that he didn’t have long to live.
She appointed a day a week before the wedding when they were going to euthanize him. He had five attacks, he suffered terribly and she did not want him to suffer.
But at the last moment, Kelly changed her mind – Charlie began to show with all his might that he could still hold on. And on the day of the wedding, the black Labrador did not leave the bride and walked to the altar with her.
But after the ceremony, Charlie could no longer stand up and sister Kelly took him in her arms. Having already become a wife, Kelly’s first thing was to hug the dog tightly and bury her face in the black fur. “You did it. You did it,” she said.
The guests could not hold back their tears.
Charlie passed away a few days later. For Kelly, he was her best friend, her support. She keeps looking at his photos over and over again.
There is one where he has flowers on his head and she always thinks that he looks very happy there.
She constantly wonders if she did the right thing, which made him suffer for a few extra days. But she believes that he himself wanted it.
So much tenderness and love in these photos! Without a doubt, Kelly is an excellent veterinarian. Her patients are in safe and kind hands.
